My blog is considered a Lifestyle Blog– which is great, because I’ll be able to write just about anything I want. I’ll blog about my basic topics; typical Lifestyle fare: Home and Garden, Family, Social Media. I’m sure I’ll be adding more as time goes on– that’s how my brain works. I’ve also included Inspiration as a topic. Inspiration may take the form of quotes, memes, some personal anecdotes and such. I’ll also be writing a series of blogs called Inspiring Lives of Older Women. One blog a month will focus on a particular woman, who became famous or started doing something that made her famous after the age of 50. I’ll have women whose names you may know and others you never heard of before, women who lived in the 1800 and 1900’s, and women doing exciting and inspirational things today. Stay tuned every month to see who will be our Inspirational Lady for the month. Inspiring Lives of Older Women Inspiring Lives of Older Women
This Month’s Inspirational Older Woman
Our first Inspirational Woman is Anna Mary Robertson Moses, but most of us know her as Grama Moses, the folk artist
Anna was born in New York State 1860 and died in 1961 at the age of 101. As a child, she was interested in painting, had she to start work at the age of 12. She lived on a farm in Virginia for much of her married life, but moved back to a farm in New York state. When her husband passed away, she moved in with her daughter. She was known as Mother Moses or Grama Moses Early in her life, she embroidered pictures in yarn. But, when her arthritis grew too painful, she had to give up her embroidery work.
